Our Story

Bee's Inn, nestled in Ohaupo, New Zealand is proudly owned and operated by Dave and Christine West.

The Bees Inn story began when Dave was just eight years of ages, now having been in the Bee industry for 40 plus years, these guys know their honey.

Their long span of knowledge and experience allows them to understand key production areas and develop a strong Manuka producing business.

We harvest, extract and pack all our own honey on site to ensure the utmost standard is upheld. This level of knowledge and cleanliness allows us to uphold our MPI, FDA, UMF and Halal registrations.

Meet Dave - Our Master Beekeeper.

Our team consists of highly knowledgeable and skilled beekeepers, led by Master Beekeeper Dave West. Dave is a whizz with all things bees and often lends his advice to others in the field.

With a deep love and understanding of bees, our passionate team is dedicated to these remarkable creatures.

Dave's journey in beekeeping began at the age of 8 when he convinced his father to keep a swarm of bees.

This childhood hobby has blossomed into a lifelong commitment to beekeeping. Dave's passion for bees has been passed down to his sons, Terry and Keith, ensuring the tradition of beekeeping thrives through generations.

Terry & Keith West

With a Dad like Dave, of course you too end up in the bee industry.

For approximately 28 years Terry and Keith have been close behind Dave helping uphold the Bees Inn Manuka name.

Terrys primary role is General Manager, however honey harvesting is his specialty. Terry takes great pride in his relationships with clients.

Keith is our Pollination Manager and is a helpful set of hands to have around the factory with his knowledge of machinery and mechanics.
